During its almost 30 years of existence, St. Gregory has changed in many ways: the campus includes many beautiful new facilities, athletic fields have been improved, and a middle school has been added. But some things remain to remind us why we valued the St. Gregory experience. An outstanding faculty continues to inspire and motivate students. Students continue to surprise and delight us with their creative, academic, and athletic achievements.
But nothing is more indicative of a school's character than the personal successes and the professional achievements of its alumni. St Gregory alumni are parents, coaches, community leaders, educators, consultants, doctors, lawyers, business people, and artists. They live throughout the United States and in many parts of the world. Many stay connected with classmates, having formed life-long friendships at St. Gregory.
This year the School is reaching out to its Alumni to help them reconnect with each other and to participate in the life of the school. The newly formed Alumni Board will be asking for your input on activities that would be meaningful and fun! Look for upcoming opportunities to mentor students, speak on campus, and contribute your ideas for making the Alumni Association relevant.
UPCOMING EVENTS
"Class Challenge" for Annual Fund Participation
In an attempt to increase alumni participation in this year's Annual Fund, the Alumni Board has launched a competition. There will be a prize for the each member of the class with the highest participation rate in this year's campaign. (Class of '98 is taking this seriously and vows to come out on top!) Winners will be announced in July and honored during Reunion Week events (December 26 - 30, 2009) Donate online at the "giving" section.
Mentor Program for College-bound Students
A program that links college-bound St. Gregory students with St. Gregory alumni who can provide advice about their own college alma mater has recently been implemented by the school's college counselling office. The goal is for alumni to provide students with an "inside view" of the colleges they are deciding among. If you are interested in participating as a mentor, please provide information in the Contact the Alumni Office form.
Senior Luncheon
On April 15th the Alumni Board will host a lunch for graduating seniors. They will be welcomed into the Alumni Association and encouraged to stay connected to the school during their college years and beyond.
Supporting School Events
Alumni provide a focal point for many school events, including Homecoming in October, Reunion Week, St. Gregory Meet Yourself in March, as Senior intership sponsors, speakers at school events, and through participation in many recruiting events. Let us know how you would like to be involved.
Alumni Newsletter
Published three times per year, the electronic newsletter reports on milestones at the school and highlights key events in our alumni's lives.
