We consider technology to be one of the essential components in preparing our students for higher education and for life. Here at St Gregory we ensure that technology is used to enhance curriculum, with the most important goal being to improve student learning.
Faculty and students have access to networked information systems extending the reach of the classroom to the school, to the country, and to the world. These educational resources through information networks include national and international libraries, museums, and post-secondary institutions around the country.
We offer a variety of computer science classes and support services to faculty, students, and staff. SmartBoards, computer labs, laptops, audio visual equipment and media production facilities are just a few of the services provided.
- SmartBoards. All classrooms at St. Gregory are equipped with a SmartBoard or a computer projector. Teachers use SmartBoards to electronically organize, print or save class notes, and to save images and videos to their class web sites.
- Wireless Network. The campus-wide wireless network means students with laptops or other wireless devices can enjoy internet access and improved mobility around the school.
- Computer Labs. Located around the school, the computer labs are learning laboratories providing access to networked Windows, Macintosh, and Linux workstations equipped with the latest applications for word processing, spreadsheet, video editing tools, programming and more.
- PASCO Scientific Equipment. This computerized scientific equipment gives students the tools to perform and explore a variety of scientific experiments and make the understanding of experimental findings much easier.
- Laptop Computers. Using laptops with our mobile computer lab, students can essentially learn anywhere. The goal is to provide our students and teachers with the ability to maximize their potential using the personal computer as a tool for teaching and learning.
- Electronic Microscopes. Our biology classrooms are equipped with the latest scientific instrumentation that includes computers, SmartBoards, video cameras, and high resolution electronic microscopes.
- Video and Photographic Equipment. Video production is incorporated in to our visual arts curriculum where students learn how to use multimedia tools to create their own movies.
- Student Information Systems. Our new web-based student information system allows Middle School parents and students real-time access to grades, attendance, assignments, and personal messages and notes from teachers.
