Each month the Middle School picks a local organization as the focus of its community service efforts. For the February project the faculty chose the Community Food Bank. Food Bank employees visited St. Gregory and talked to Middle School students about what hunger means, who uses the Food Bank programs and why, as well as the various programs the Food Bank runs throughout the community.
The Middle School students and their families began collecting non-perishable foods, and on Thursday, March 6 a Food Bank representative picked-up a total of 3,738 pounds of donated food! That translates into 2920 meals!
Way to go Middle School! You should feel great about helping others. Thank you to all of you who shopped and/or “raided” your pantries to donate to our local Food Bank!
